Check out some tricks to energize your day and have more disposition.

We all have those mornings when we can’t get out of bed and spend the whole day feeling lazy, even when we technically get enough sleep. Despite the cups and more cups of coffee, we spent the day with low energy. Sometimes we get so tired and sleepy during the day that our performance drops dramatically. But with a few simple tricks, it is possible to combat this drowsiness and have more disposition. So check out some tips to fight fatigue and boost your energy!

Have a nice breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it literally “breaks the fast” we go through during sleeping and helps prepare the body for the day that is just beginning. So it’s essential to have a good meal: try to combine carbohydrates (oats, cereals, papaya, bread – preferably whole grains) and proteins (milk, yogurt, cheese), which will provide more energy and for longer.

Increase your water intake …

It may seem incredible, but many people forget to drink water during the day. Dehydration, in addition to other problems, drains our energy and can cause drowsiness. Tufts University’s (US) study showed that even low dehydration levels are associated with fatigue and mental confusion. Thus, drinking water will make you more alert.

… And decrease your coffee intake

Despite being a stimulating substance, caffeine can increase heart rate, blood pressure, and nervousness when consumed in excess. Consequently, it can cause fatigue in some people. The ideal is to distribute the amount of coffee in smaller doses throughout the day: one cup in the morning, one before lunch, and the other after lunch is enough to keep you awake.

Walk outdoors

If you are feeling exhausted, take a walk outdoors to activate your brain. Sunlight increases your body’s serotonin levels. Also, it helps to adjust your circadian rhythm – our internal clock – leading to improved sleep and, consequently, increased energy. Still, according to a series of studies from the  University of Rochester (US), spending time in nature helps relieve stress and decrease anxiety.

Have a good night’s sleep

This is undoubtedly the most crucial tip. After all, sleeping well is essential for health and quality of life. If you are not sleeping well or are not getting enough sleep, it is necessary to pay more attention to this. Don’t forget: we all deserve a refreshing night’s sleep to wake up with full energy the next morning!
